Austrian Airlines has this week launched flights to Los Angeles

flights on a 9,849-kilometre link from its Vienna (VIE) hub on its 308-seat 777-200s. “We are already well represented in the eastern part of the US, operating flights to Chicago O’Hare, Miami, Washington Dulles and two airports in New York. We are pleased to offer new flights to Los Angeles, and thus add the US West Coast to our flight schedule for the first time in the history of Austrian Airlines,” explained Austrian Airlines Chief Financial Officer Heinz Lachinger. Los Angeles is already the fourth new destination in the US to be added to Austrian’s network during the last four years, along with Chicago, New York Newark and Miami, with the latter being the last route commencement in October 2015. The route to Los Angeles will face no direct competition. With this launch, Austrian now flies to six airports in the US on 28 weekly flights according to OAG schedules.
