Himalaya Airlines continues to steadily grow its network. On 28 April the Nepalese carrier began daily flights from Kathmandu (KTM) to Dubai Al Maktoum (DWC) using its fleet of three 158-seat A320s

The 3,018-kilometre sector is already served by flydubai, who also operate on a daily basis. Additional indirect competition comes from Nepal Airlines and flydubai who both connect Kathmandu with Dubai’s main airport. Dubai joins Doha, Kuala Lumpur and Yangon on the young airline’s network. According to OAG data it currently accounts for just under 5% of seat capacity from Kathmandu Airport where it is the seventh largest carrier by seats. Buddha Air with just over 15% of seats is the biggest carrier, followed by India’s Jet Airways and Nepal Airlines.
