Swoop outlines early US flight plans due from 4Q18

Swoop (WSW, Calgary) says it anticipates starting flights to the United States on or about October 11 of this year.
The start-up said in an application to the US Department of Transportation for a Foreign Air Carrier Permit and Exemption Authority that its initial transborder operations will include services between points in Canada and Las Vegas, Orlando, Tampa Int'l, Fort Lauderdale Int'l, and Phoenix.

A unit of WestJet (WS, Calgary), Swoop will start regular flights on June 20 connecting Hamilton, ON, Abbotsford, Edmonton Int'l, Winnipeg Int'l, and Halifax. It will add a total of six B737-800s from WestJet to its fleet by the end of the year.
