Regional airline Fly91 has finalized the lease of two ATR-72 aircraft and intends to begin operations in the first quarter of 2024,
Fly91 was targeting an October launch, but the plan has been delayed due to aircraft procurement delays.
Fly91 will operate on Udan and non-Udan routes, connecting tier II and III cities. Udan stands for Ude Desh ka Aam Aadmi – the government’s flagship regional connectivity scheme. Fly91 received a no-objection certificate from the Ministry of Civil Aviation in April. In July, it won the tender to operate flights from Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Nanded (all in Maharashtra) and Agatti (Lakshadweep) to Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad and Pune under the Udan scheme.
