NEW AIRLINE - KM Malta Airlines to commence operations on March 31, goodbye Air Malta

KM Malta Airlines Ltd. is the new airline of the Maltese Islands and we will perform our first flight on March 31, 2024
We were established to protect and enhance the connectivity of the Maltese Islands to Europe and beyond, to support the Islands’ continued economic development and to grow into a successful and sustainable airline.
We will adopt a key European destination approach, linking Malta with the main capital cities in Western Europe, with the primary European airport hubs, and connecting with partner airlines.

We are the national airline of the Maltese Islands providing stable, regular and all-year round connectivity to Europe and beyond.
We fly to 17 major passenger and cargo hubs in 15 key European cities and we attach to the bigger airlines through codeshare and interline agreements.

We are a safe and respected full service European airline offering a friendly and caring service to all our valued passengers.

Our Fleet.
We operate a young single type aircraft fleet of 8 Airbus 320NEOs, in a two-class configuration with a flexible Business Class cabin averaging 168 total saleable seats with up to 36 Business Class seats. These modern fuel-efficient aircraft offer superior operating economics and better environmental performance with reduced CO2 emissions per passenger and lower noise pollution.

Air Malta will operate its last revenue flight on March 30, 2024.
Air Malta started operations as the national airline of Malta on April 1, 1974 with 7 scheduled services across Europe and two wet-leased aircraft.

Air Malta operates a fleet of 8 Airbus A320 aircraft and flies to 18 scheduled destinations in Europe, and the Middle East.

From just 52,000 passengers carried in its first year, the airline now carries 2 million passengers yearly and over the course of its history transported over 56 million passengers safely to and from Malta.
