Another important Certification Flight Test Subject for ARJ21-700 started - China´s First Engine Inlet Splash Test

ARJ21-700 AC102 in Xi'an Yanliang continued to carry out the important subject of the airworthiness certification C engine inlet splash test, which is China's first such test in civil aircraft airworthiness certification history. The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) officials, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) shadow audit officials witnessed the test. 

The engine inlet water splash test mainly verified that whether the water possibly inhaled by the aircraft engine inlet would impact the engine stability during taxiing, takeoff and landing. The engine inlet splash test for ARJ21-700 lasted from June 22nd to June 28th, 2012. Ten tests were conducted on a puddled runway at different speeds under aircraft taxiing, takeoff and landing conditions.
