CDI Cargo’s First Cargo Airplane Arrived in Hangzhou Airport

Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, a newly painted white color Boeing 737-300 cargo airplane, numbered B-2949, swiftly landed on the runway through the morning mist. After a short slide, it stopped steadily at cargo apron parking slot No.101. The dragon head logo on its vertical tail looked especially vivid and dazzled, with all the flashlights and laughter. This is CDI Cargo Airlines’ first pure cargo airplane, successfully arriving in Hangzhou home ground, after completing modification at Jinan and taking transit at Qingdao.

At 07:45, when the air crew opened the cabin door and laid down the gangway ladder, the leaders and staffs of CDI Cargo and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport welcomed them with red flowers and warm applause, and they took group photos and unfolded the banner to mark the occasion. The whole pick-up ceremony was simple and warm. After that, CDI Cargo arranged its new staffs to visit the airplane orderly

As introduced by CEO Su Xiufeng, it is CDI Cargo’s first among all three self-purchased airplanes. The second and third will complete modification and start commercial operation in October and November this year respectively. Mr. Su said, “Our B737 fleet will first serve the booming express market in China. Now Hangzhou airport plays a critical role in domestic aviation express market, and Hangzhou now ranks among the major regional hub airports in China, announced by the State Council in early this month. I believe that the start of operation will further leverage Hangzhou Airport as a hub, and provide powerful support to the development of the high-end logistic industry in Zhejiang Province.”

CDI Cargo is a joint venture among Huixiang Industial Investments Ltd., Delux Wealth Group Ltd., Asian Win Investments Ltd. and Caulfield Investments Ltd. CDI Cargo is the first Sino-foreign joint venture and also the first specialized cargo airline in Zhejiang province so far. According to CDI Cargo’s development plan, during the starting up stage, the company will build a fleet of Narrow-bodies to operate mainly in Greater China, Japan and Korea region. After 2015, based on the requirement of market development and its own operational capacity, the company will timely introduce the Wide-bodies in order to explore the inter-continental market.
