PEOPLExpress planning to acquire charter airline

PEOPLExpress has received a short-term loan from the Regional Air Service Enhancement committee that supports air travel from Newport News Williamsburg International (PHF). The low-cost carrier start-up using the famous old brand has announced plans to acquire an existing charter airline with five aircraft by the end of February without disclosing which operator it is planning to take over. It then plans to launch scheduled operations from Newport News to destinations on the US East Coast and in Florida.
