Tortug' Air plans CRJ-100 wet-lease to operate to US

Tortug Air  has applied for traffic rights to be allowed to operate a daily service linking Cap Haitien International  and Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International. The route would be its first service to the United States and Tortug' Air plans to wet-lease a CRJ-100 from South African charter operator CemAir  for the new service as Haitian carriers are not allowed to launch new routes to the United States themselves given the country's category 2 status with the US Federal Aviation Administration. Tortug' Air currently operates Jetstream 32s and Let 410s on domestic services and international routes to Providenciales International  and Santo Domingo La Isabela International.
