China Southern to Fly 787 Dreamliner to Western Australia

China Southern Airlines (CZ) plans to deploy its Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the route between Guangzhou and Perth, the capital of the Australian state of Western Australia (WA) from March 31 and increase the frequency of the service to four times weekly from July 15.
The Guangzhou-based carrier currently flies to Perth from Guangzhou at 9:45 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with the return flight departing Perth at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Starting July 15, the new departure time from Guangzhou will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays and 10:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays, providing more flexible connections to domestic and international transit passengers.
The Guangzhou-Perth service was opened in 2011, which is the only nonstop flight linking mainland China with WA.
In 2014, China Southern signed an agreement with the government of WA to strengthen their cooperation. Data shows that more than 50,000 people traveled on the Guangzhou-Perth route operated by the carrier in the past year.
The airline has 10 787 Dreamliners in its fleet. The 787 Dreamliner features a three-class configuration with 228 seats, including 4 in First Class, 24 in Business Class and 200 in Economy Class.
The 787 Dreamliner has lower maintenance costs and is more fuel-efficient compared with other aircraft of the same type.
