China Aviation Daily

The Y-12F turboprop utility aircraft, developed by AVIC Harbin Aircraft Industry Group Co. Ltd., and supported by Honeywell Aerospace, has received type certificate approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. Honeywell provides the Y-12F with the Primus Apex integrated avionics system.

Honeywell's Primus Apex offers pilots an unparalleled view of weather, traffic and terrain for superior situational awareness and improved safety. The integrated avionics platform provides turboprops and light to mid-size business jets with high-end functionality at an affordable price. The platform is the first Federal Aviation Regulations Part 23 avionics system offering flight management functions that meet the latest Federal Aviation Administration Technical Standard Order requirements. In addition to the Y-12F, other aircraft equipped with Primus Apex include the Pilatus PC-12NG, Pilatus PC-24, SyberJet SJ30 and Viking Twin Otter Series 400.

The Y-12F is a light, general aircraft for regional use that has a high cruising speed. Its long-range capabilities can be used for passenger transport, airdropping supplies, maritime surveillance, aerial telemetry and photography, remote sensing, and geological prospecting. Previously, the Y-12F received type certificate approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China. AVIC Harbin Aircraft Industry Group expects to see strong demand for the Y-12F globally over the next 20 years.
