9 Air Takes Delivery of Its Second Colorful Aircraft

Juneyao Airlines low-cost subsidiary 9 Air took delivery of its second colorful aircraft, with a brand new Boeing 737-800 landing smoothly at Guangzhou Baiyuan International Airport (CAN) at 11:54 a.m., Sep. 9, the airline revealed on its official Weibo account.

The newly introduced 737-800 aircraft, registration number B-1719, is painted with nine circles in different colors and sizes on its fuselage and the striking "9" on both its tail and wing tips. It is interesting that 9 Air's first two aircraft feature different color schemes - one with an orange tail, orange wing tips and 9 dots in matching colors, the other with blue color combinations.

The Guangzhou-based low-cost carrier signed a deal with Boeing Co. to buy 50 Boeing 737s, including Next-Generation 737s and 737 MAXs, with a total list price of over US$6 billion. The airline plans to introduce 26 Airbus A320s or Boeing 737s in the next five years and it will launch flights to destinations in China and its neighboring countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia. 9 Air is expected to own 60 aircraft by 2020.
