South Korean LCC Jin Air to start B777 flights in December

Jin Air will commence widebody operations on December 12 with daily flights from Seoul Incheon to Guam Int'l. According to Airline Route, the service will operate on board a B777-200(ER).

The Korean Air subsidiary plans to acquire three B777s before June of next year with the first aircraft due in early December. The twinjets will be configured with 393 seats with 30 to 40 seats allotted for Economy Plus. Flights to Honolulu are scheduled to begin in summer next year as well.

As the local South Korean market becomes increasingly constrained, so local LCCs are turning their attention to the international market. Asiana Airlines subsidiary, Air Busan, is looking to offer its maiden long haul routes to Australia, Hawaii, Turkey and Western Europe by 2018 using a fleet of A330s.
