T'Way Air eyes B737-900s

T'way Air (TW, Cheong Ju) has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for two B737-900(ER)s the South Korean LCC's Vice President (Business & Management), Hyung-Yi Kim, has told CAPA.
According to comments made by Kim, the type's extended range over that of the B737-800 will allow T'way to expand into untapped markets in Southeast Asia and to increase capacity on slot constrained routes - Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok for example.
At present, T'way operates fifteen B737-800s on scheduled passenger flights to thirty destinations across South Korea as well as in Guam, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Japan, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Macau, the Northern Mariana Islands, Thailand, and Laos. It currently maintains bases at Seoul Gimpo, Seoul Incheon, and Daegu.
