Zoom Air (India) secures AOP, prepares to launch

Zoom Air (India) (Delhi Int'l) is preparing to commence scheduled passenger operations after it secured its Air Operator's Permit (AOP) on February 3.

The Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) reports the start-up, which bills itself as India's commuter carrier, will launch with flights from its Delhi Int'l hub to Kolkata and Durgapur on February 12 using two CRJ-200s. From late March, flights to Surat, Tirupati, Mumbai Int'l, Allahabad, Shillong, and Aizawl will begin with a third CRJ to allow for service to Indore, Jabalpur, Diu, Aurangabad, and Vijayawada.
"We are beginning with these flights in the east and north in the winter schedule that is almost nearing its end. Once the summer schedule is announced, we will have more aircraft to service many more sectors," Zoom Air Managing Director and CEO, Koustav Dhar, said.
