On 25 July the carrier began four times weekly flights on the 2,012-kilometre route from Beijing (PEK) to Macau using its A319s. The route is already flown three times daily by Air Macau. On the same day the airline began three times weekly flights from Hangzhou (HGH) to Lisbon via Beijing utilising its A330-200s. The 9,653-kilometre connection between the capitals of China and Portugal faces no direct competition and is the first direct service between the two countries. It is also the longest sector operated by the airline. Beijing Capital Airlines already serves Madrid (from Chengdu) and Moscow Sheremetyevo (from Qingdao) in Europe.
