Aeromexico Increases Seating Capacity from Madrid by 25%, Adds the Boeing 787 to Fleet

Aeromexico, Mexico’s biggest airline, against the backdrop of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR – Feria Internacional de Turismo), is announcing the addition of three weekly night flights on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

With the arrival of this new aircraft, the airline will meet the demand of the Spanish market, offering 243 seats – 32 in First Class with 180-degree reclining – with more space between seats, new individual entertainment systems and an improvement in cabin pressurization, among other features.

Through the 10 weekly flights that Aeromexico will now be offering between Madrid and Mexico City (7 of them on Boeing 777 aircraft, and 3 on Boeing 787′s), the airline will be providing nearly 5,400 seats between the two capital cities. The night schedule for the new flights will facilitate connectivity for passengers to more than 40 destinations in Mexico, 17 in the United States, 12 in Latin America and one in Canada.

In keeping with this trend, and with Aeromexico’s commitment to the European market, it will be making a point of providing its services with the world’s most modern aircraft.

Sergio Allard, Executive Commercial Director of the airline, said: “We are aware that the arrival of the Boeing 787 to all of our European destinations – Madrid, London and Paris – less than one year after introducing it to our fleet, will revolutionize our customers’ travel experience.”

Starting in May, passengers from the United Kingdom will be able to enjoy the benefits of the new Boeing 787. With this addition, Aeromexico will be increasing by some 30 percent its offering of seats between London Heathrow International Airport and Mexico City.

Since October of 2013, Mexico’s global airline has been operating seven weekly night flights from Paris with the Boeing 787.

With this news, Aeromexico is consolidating its position as the only airline to unite Europe and Mexico with the world’s most modern aircraft, as it continues its plan for fleet renewal and increase of world class services for the benefit of its customers.
