Xiamen Airlines (MF)'s Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet welcomed its one-year anniversary on August 31.
Over the past year, Xiamen Air, which now operates five 787 Dreamliners, has achieved nearly 9,000 flying hours, handled 3,192 aircraft movements and 487,000 passengers totally. The five Dreamliners earned 720 million yuan for the Xiamen-based carrier.
On Aug. 31, 2014, the Xiamen-based carrier received its first 787 Dreamliner, Registration B-2768, which is the first wide-body airplane of the airline. Currently, the airline has five Dreamliners, which are operating Fuzhou-Beijing, Xiamen-Beijing, Xiamen-Chengdu, Fuzhou-Taipei, Xiamen-Kunming, Fuzhou-Kunming, Xiamen-Tokyo routes and etc.
Notably, Xiamen Air's Dreamliner flew to Amsterdam starting July 26, marking the airline's first ever intercontinental route.
In addition, Xiamen Air is scheduled to take delivery of its sixth 787 Dreamliner at the end of September. To further boost its global expansion, the airline will also introduce six more advanced 787-9 Dreamliners in next few years.
