The U.S. carrier will use Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner for the three-times-a-week service, starting from July 13.
Hangzhou will be the Third destination in secondary Chinese markets for United Airlines, following Chengdu (began in June 2014) and Xi'an (begins in May 2016, Seasonal).
"United has the most extensive trans-Pacific route network of any U.S. airline," said Jake Cefolia, United's vice president for Atlantic and Pacific sales.
United started nonstop service to China in 1986 and today serves Beijing with nonstop flights from Chicago, New York/Newark, San Francisco and Washington/Dulles; Shanghai with nonstop flights from Chicago, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, Guam and San Francisco; and Chengdu with nonstop flights from San Francisco.
