Brussels Airlines to fly to Mumbai



Lufthansa has revealed that Brussels Airlines will start flying to India next year.

The German carrier recently approved the full acquisition of Belgium’s largest airline, which is expected to close in the coming months.

And on 6 March 2017, Brussels Airlines will commence its first Indian route, operating five times a week direct between Brussels and Mumbai. This route is likely to be operated by an Airbus A330 aircraft.

Mumbai and been without a direct connection to Belgium since Jet Airways suspended its Brussels route earlier this year.

In addition, the airline will increase capacity on routes to several African destinations, including Banjul (Gambia) and Dakar (Senegal) will be increased and more frequent services to Entebbe (Uganda) and Kigali (Rwanda).



Meanwhile, Lufthansa has said that it will “significantly increase” its service to Pune for the 2016-17 winter season, as well as launching a new flight between Frankfurt and Cape Town on 2 December.
