Alaska Airlines launched three new services on the 1 July, all of which operate on a daily frequency. Two of the services will operate from Seattle-Tacoma (SEA) to Milwaukee (MKE) and Oklahoma City (OKC). These are the first flights by Alaska Airlines to the two airports. Commenting on the launch of services from Milwaukee, Chris Abele, Milwaukee County Executive, said: “Alaska Airlines has developed a great reputation among travellers and will be well received in Milwaukee. The new route launch strengthens our west-coast service, while allowing for easy connections to the Pacific north-west and Hawaii.” On the same day, the carrier also launched services from Portland (PDX) to St. Louis (STL). Alaska Airlines also operates to the Missouri Airport from Seattle. All of the new services will be flown by E175s, operated by SkyWest Airlines. Flights between Seattle and Milwaukee are the only ones that will face direct competition, which comes in the form of Southwest Airlines, which operates a double-daily service.
