Rainbow Airlines to partner Air Nana on UK-Zimbabwe flights

Rainbow Airlines (RA, Harare Int'l) is reportedly planning to partner a UK-based start-up - Air Nana - to commence scheduled flights between the United Kingdom and Zimbabwe.

According to Air Nana's Saleena Chaudry, the two carriers intend to use an A330-200 to open up London Gatwick-Harare Int'l flights at some point in the future. The route was last served by Air Zimbabwe (UM, Harare Int'l) in late 2011 and was suspended after creditors impounded one of the Zimbabwean national carrier's B767-200(ER)s at Gatwick citing USD500,000 in unpaid debts.

Founded in 2013, Air Nana is backed by the Congolese-owned Mecaa USA corporation and has plans to operate flights from London to India as well as to Luanda via Abidjan and Brazzaville.

As recently reported, Rainbow Airlines is slated to commence operations at month-end with flights between Harare and Johannesburg O.R. Tambo.
