FLEET - Mauritania Airlines resumes B737 MAX 8 operations

Mauritania Airlines (L6, Nouakchott) has taken redelivery of its only B737-8 after around a year in storage at Lourdes/Tarbes.

Following subsequent pre-induction maintenance at Addis Ababa International, the state-owned airline welcomed 5T-CLJ (msn 64299) to Nouakchott on December 13. It then re-entered revenue service on December 17 operating a return flight to Gran Canaria as L6 124/L6 111, ADS-B data shows.

The MAX is one of the last of Mauritania Airlines' six-strong fleet of wholly-owned mainline aircraft to return to service, the others being an E145, a B737-800, a B737-700, and two E175s (one of which has been out of service since July). The airline operates scheduled flights to Zouerate and Nouadhibou domestically as well as to the Canary Islands, Morocco, Senegal, Mali, DR Congo, RO Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Gabon, Benin, and Tunisia.
