Air China added two new destinations to its network on 1 May with the introduction of services from Beijing to Minsk in Belarus and Budapest in Hungary
The four times weekly service will be flown by one of the airline’s A330-200s and will operate Beijing-Minsk-Budapest-Beijing. Jost Lammers, CEO of Budapest Airport, said “We are delighted to welcome Air China as our new airline, adding Beijing to our significant portfolio of new services available this year. We also highly appreciate the highest level support from both governments that made this new flight possible. Hungary is a rapidly growing tourism market for China, which generated a 19% increase in Chinese visitors travelling to Budapest last year.” Also last week, on 30 April, Air China launched twice-weekly flights (Thursdays and Sundays) on the 2,866-kilometre sector from Wuhan (WUH) to Surat Thani (URT) in Thailand using A320s. This is the airline’s first route to Surat Thani
