Loong Air Receives New A320, Fleet to 16 by Year End

A brand new A320 jetliner of Zhejiang Loong Air (GJ) departing from Toulouse in France landed smoothly at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) at 7:30 p.m. on May 28, which is the firstly received aircraft of 20 Airbus A320s that the Hangzhou-based airline has ordered.

Equipped with sharklets and CFM-56 engines, the newly-received A320 aircraft is configured with 174 all economy seats. Sharklets can reduce fuel cost by about 4% on long-haul flights, not only promoting the aircraft's takeoff performance, obstacle clearance and climbing capacity, but also ensuring the in-flight safety. What's more, the aircraft's cabin seats are equipped with slim and soft headrests that are adjustable. Wider space between seats and barrier-free lavatory will make the journey up in the air more comfortable.

To date Zhejiang Loong Air has a fleet of 8 aircraft. With 6 A320s and 2 B737s to be received this year, the Hangzhou-based carrier will increase its fleet to 16 by year end.

Commencing services on December 29, 2013, the airline continues its development at a fast pace and has launched services to 33 domestic cities from Hangzhou base. Besides, the carrier plans to expand its services toward HK, Macao, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and other international cities and regions.
