Canada's Enerjet revises ULCC project name to FlyToo

Enerjet (EG, Calgary) has renamed its tentative ULCC project from Jet Naked (Calgary), to FlyToo (Calgary). Conceived of in 2014, the FlyToo project entails using a trio of B737s to run budget flights throughout Canada. No timeframes concerning certification and launch have yet been given.
Other competing entrants into the Canadian LCC market include: Jetlines (Vancouver Int'l) and NewLeaf Airways (Winnipeg Int'l) (partnering Flair Airlines (F8, Kelowna)).

Start-up carriers have petitioned Justin Trudeau's government to relax laws capping foreign ownership of local commercial airlines from the current 25% to 49%. According to the Financial Post, a sweeping review of the Canada Transportation Act, tabled in Parliament last month, includes a recommendation that the limit be lifted in a bid to lure in capital needed to sustain operations in the difficult Canadian market.
