Nepal's Himalaya Airlines adds maiden aircraft



Himalaya Airlines took official delivery of its maiden aircraft, an A320-200 (sl), on Wednesday, March 9. The twinjet, 9N-ALM, will be joined by a second A320 along with a maiden A319-100 in the coming months.

Operations-wise, Himalaya Ailrines will begin serving each of Delhi Int'l and Doha Hamad Int'l from April 12 onwards followed by Chengdu, Lhasa, and Beijing Capital. Flights to Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Ahmedabad, Colombo Int'l, Kuala Lumpur Int'l, and Singapore Changi are expected to launch later next year.

The start-up is a 51/49 joint-venture between Nepalese firms Himalayan Infrastructure Fund (HIF) and Yeti World Investment, and China's Tibet Airlines .
