Aer Lingus started two new routes during the course of last week, both of which were launched from its Dublin (DUB) base

Firstly, on 1 May, the carrier introduced a new transatlantic service, this time to Washington Dulles (IAD) with four weekly flights, using its 267-seat A330-200s. The 5,460-kilometre sector is already flown by United Airlines with six weekly flights. One day later, the currently unaligned airline expanded its presence in France with thrice-weekly seasonal departures to Nantes (NTE) until 12 September, using its 144-seat A319s. This airport pair is currently served by Ryanair’s thrice-weekly flights. See how Washington Dulles Airport’s FTWA compares to others from around the world.
