Tianjin Airlines Plans London and Moscow Services in June

Tianjin Airlines is waiting government approval to launch three international round-trip services to London, UK and Moscow, Russia in June 2016, to accelerate the regional carrier's global expansion.

Pending government approval, Tianjin Airlines will fly Airbus A330 aircraft from its hub to London via Chongqing in June 2016, with two flights weekly. Besides, the regional carrier is planning to launch two nonstop twice-weekly services to Moscow from Tianjin and Chongqing, also using A330 aircraft.

The Tianjin-based carrier has accelerated its international expansion pace as the Chinese economy grows. In November 2015, the regional carrier applied to the aviation watchdog for launching its first intercontinental route - Tianjin-Chongqing-Vancouver.

Once the Tianjin-Chongqing-Vancouver service to be launched in 2016, Tianjin Airlines would become the latest Hainan Airlines subsidiary to start long-haul operations following its sister carrier Capital Airlines and the eighth Chinese carrier operating international flights following Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Xiamen Airlines and Capital Airlines.
The Transportation Department of CAAC is now soliciting public comments on the application until Feb.6, 2016.
