Norwegian Long Haul (DU, Oslo Gardermoen) has signed an agreement with Norwegian sister firm Arctic Aviation Assets (AAA) for two B787-9s. Both aircraft are scheduled to enter service in summer 2017.
“In order to make our long-haul operation even more competitive, we are dependent on more brand new cost-efficient aircraft," Norwegian’s CEO Bjørn Kjos, said. "Our long-haul routes have been very popular and I´m very satisfied to have secured more Dreamliners. This will enable us to launch even more routes to exiting destinations all over the world."
With this new agreement, the long-haul specialist's fleet will consist of nineteen B787s come 2018. Currently, the carrier operates eight B787-8s while holding commitments for eleven B787-9s. Of the latter, four will be delivered in 2016, five in 2017, and two in 2018.
