Represents extension of Heavy Maintenance Agreement signed in 2012
Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced today that it has signed a five-year heavy maintenance agreement with Mesa Air Group, Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona (Mesa Airlines). Under this contract, which extends to 2020, Bombardier will perform all heavy maintenance tasks for the airline’s fleet of CRJ700 and CRJ900 aircraft at its service centres in Macon, Georgia, Bridgeport, West Virginia and Tucson, Arizona.
“Bombardier’s CRJ Series aircraft continue to be an essential part of Mesa’s growth strategy and network success,” said Jonathan Ornstein, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mesa Airlines. “While we continue to focus on building our business, it’s reassuring to be supported by Bombardier’s expertise as our aircraft maintenance provider.”
“We are excited that Mesa continues to rely on Bombardier’s service centres to help ensure its fleet of CRJ aircraft is delivering the performance and reliability that operators around the world have come to expect,” said Todd Young, Vice President, Customer Services, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “As the aircraft manufacturer, we pride ourselves on being able to provide the highest level of maintenance services for operators of our aircraft.”
Mesa Airlines was the launch customer for the CRJ900 aircraft in 2001 and today is one of its largest operators. Mesa Airlines’ fleet includes 57 CRJ900 aircraft with 76 to 79 seats in a dual-class interior and 20 CRJ700 with 70 seats in a three-class interior. Additionally, in March 2015 Mesa placed a firm order for seven new CRJ900 aircraft.
