Ningxia Cargo Airlines, the first cargo carrier based in West China, is expected to commence operation in this September, local media reported on Sunday.
According to Department of Commerce of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the new cargo carrier has received a public air operator's certificate from the aviation watchdog on June 11.
Ningxia Cargo Airlines plans to purchase three Boeing 737 aircraft for initial operations, which will arrive in Yinchuan after painting jobs in the middle of August 2015. Although the specific timetable for its formal launch remains to be decided, the airline is projected to start officially business operation in September after validation flights.
With a registered capital of 120 million yuan, Ningxia Cargo Airlines will operate domestic cargo and mail flights using a trio of 737-300 Freighters -- Registration B-2954, B-2949, and B-2584 -- brought from Zhejiang Loong Airlines.
The start-up carrier, based at Yinchuan Hedong Airport in the Ningxia Autonomous Region, is planning to be operating the international and domestic air cargo & mail transportation and other related business with a fleet of Boeing 737 and 747 air freighters. It is planned to expand its fleet to 50 by 2020 and build a comprehensive cargo network, which covers major domestic cities, connects with Central Asia, West Asia and East Europe and extends to Middle East, Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.
