China Southern Launches Guangzhou-Paris/London Two New Freighter Routes

At 2:30 a.m. on June 20, China Southern Airlines Guangzhou-London-Frankfurt first freighter flight will take off from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, it will arrive at London after 12.5 hours' flight on June 21, China Southern will launch the other new freighter route Guangzhou-Paris-Vienna. China Southern indicates that this is a significant step to broaden the China-Europe air route and serve the "One Belt and One Road" strategy.

These two new freighter routes are operated by the most advanced Boeing 777-200F freighter. Guangzhou-London-Frankfurt (flight numbered CZ465/6) will departure from Guangzhou at 2:30 a.m. (Beijing time) every Monday and Saturday, and will arrive at UK's capital London at 8:05 a.m. (London time) same day. Guangzhou-Paris-Vienna (flight numbered CZ487/8) will departure from Guangzhou at 6:30 a.m. (Beijing Time) every Thursday and Sunday, will arrive at Paris at 1:10 p.m. (Paris time) . From July 1, Guangzhou-Paris-Vienna-Guangzhou will be added to three times per week.

London and Paris are new freighter destinations of China Southern. The number of freighter destinations of China Southern in Europe will be up to five including Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Vienna. This newly added freighter capacity plus belly capacity on passenger flights, China Southern will be able to offer about 1200 tons of cargo capacity from Guangzhou to Europe on weekly basis.

Through cooperation with ground handling agencies, truck companies, and airlines partners, China Southern build up distribution network centered at the said five destinations. By doing this, Cargo can be transferred to more than 100 cities around Europe, "same-day" and "second-day" delivery service can be achieved. At the same time, value added services such as BUP delivery, full truck delivery, DG and temperature controlled transportation can be offered.

"We hope that, driving by the 'One Belt and One Road' Initiative, China Southern Cargo can provide more convenient service for trade and economic exchanges between China and Europe", referred by China Southern Cargo. Through these direct links, shipments such as health care products, milk powder, crab, salmon, mail, electronic instruments from UK, and luxuries, fresh oyster, red wine from France can be transported to China more convenient and faster. By intensive flight network in Guangzhou, these products can be transshipped to Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea, North America and Australia as soon as possible.

"At the same time, China exports huge amount of mechanical and electrical products, furniture, toy, textile and material to UK. As for Guangzhou air cargo exported in 2014, France was the Third biggest destination, German and Netherland ranked the First and the Second. This is also the reason why we launch these two freighter routes. In addition to the freighter flights, daily passenger flights Guangzhou-London v.v. and Guangzhou-Paris v.v. are also available to meet customer needs", according by China Southern Cargo.

In recent years, China Southern has been dedicated in building "Canton route", making Guangzhou another cargo hub besides Shanghai. By deploying more freighters in Guangzhou an air transportation corridor connecting Pearl River Delta and abroad is taking shape. Benefiting from the extensive passenger flight network, the passenger flights and the freighter flights are complementary to each other on schedule and time. Taking advantages of the cargo terminal and customs service of Guangzhou headquarter the cargo service to Europe and America is forming scale effect, making China Southern the first choice of the customers. In addition, China Sothern has also built seamless transfer channel among Europe, American and Australia.

In June and July this year, China Southern will introduce 3 more new B777 freighters, which will all be positioned in Guangzhou. Then, with 6 freighters in Shanghai and 6 in Guangzhou, China Southern will possess 12 B777 freighters, making the biggest B777F fleet in the world.

The Boeing 777F:

The Boeing 777 Freighter is 62.94 meters in length, with 64.80 meters wingspan and 18.76 meters in height. The main deck is 5.09 meters high while the lower deck is 3.11 meters.

The maximum cargo capacity is 105.9 tons with 650 cubic meters in volume with a maximum fly range of 9630km, the most economical twin engine freighter with the longest range and largest capacity.

The Boeing 777F meets QC2 noise standards which allow it to operate in most noise sensitive airports.

China Southern Airlines Cargo:

China Southern Cargo, a member of SkyTeam Cargo, currently posses nine B777-200Fs, and three more will be delivered in 2015. It offers various freighter routes including Guangzhou-Chongqing-Amsterdam-Guangzhou, Guangzhou-Amsterdam-Guangzhou, Guangzhou-Frankfurt-Guangzhou,Guangzhou-Vienna-Frankfurt-Guangzhou,Shanghai-Amsterdam-Chongqing-Shanghai,Shanghai-Amsterdam-Shanghai,Shanghai-Amsterdam-Vienna-Shanghai,Shanghai-Frankfurt-Shanghai, Shanghai-Los Angeles-Tianjin-Shanghai, and Shanghai-Los Angeles-Vancouver-Shanghai. At the same time, China Southern Cargo runs the bellyhold business of more than 500 passenger planes, which covers China, Asia, and links to the major cities of Europe, America, Australia, and Africa. In addition, China Southern Cargo sets up trucking network in China, Europe, North America, Middle East, Australia, and Japan, reaching more than 100 cities in Europe, and 90 cities in North America.
