Premier Airways in talks with Airbus over A320neo

Premier Airways (Chennai) is reportedly in advanced talks with Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) over a possible order for forty A320neo aircraft. Sources who spoke to India's Economic Times on condition of anonymity said a deal is expected to be finalized soon. 

Operating under the Easy Air banner, Premier Airways has secured the greenlight from the Indian Ministry of Civil Aviation to commence operations in October this year, pending the issuance of an Air Operators Permit from the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). As such, it will lease an undisclosed number of A320-200s for its initial requirements.

No operational or network plans have yet been revealed.
