A Boeing 787 Dreamliner of Xiamen Airlines (MF) landed smoothly at Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) on June 22, marking the official opening of the airline's Fuzhou-Taipei route.
The inaugural flight, performed by Xiamen Airlines' fifth 787 Dreamliner registered B-2762, was delivered on June 19. The outbound flight MF879 is scheduled to depart from Fuzhou Changle International Airport (FOC) at 9:00 a.m. and arrive at TPE at 10:25 a.m., with the return trip MF880 leaving Taipei at 11:25 a.m. and reaching Fuzhou at 12:50 p.m.
The 787 will operate the daily cross-strait service during the period from June 22 to July 25 before it will be officially deployed on Xiamen-Amsterdam route starting June 26.
Xiamen Airlines' 787 Dreamliner features a classic three-class configuration. There are a total of 236 seats, including 4 in First Class (P), 18 in Business Class (F) and 214 in Economy Class (Y).
Commencing on August 6, the Xiamen-based carrier will launch its first ever direct flight to Tokyo from its home base in Xiamen, in southeastern China's Fujian province. Xiamen Airlines will be the second carrier operating non-stop flights between the two cities, following Japan's All Nippon Airways.
