Private Chinese Carrier to Introduce 787-9 Dreamliners - Sources

China's privately-owned airline may introduce two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners in 2017, sources familiar with the matter disclosed via BBS of CARNOC.com, sister website of WCARN.

According to the sources, a privately-owned carrier would probably take delivery of the 787-9s in 2017, when it will become the fifth Dreamliner operator in mainland China.

In fact, it is said a few months ago that some domestic carrier mulled taking two 787-9 Dreamliners by financial leasing, which is expected to be deployed on intercontinental routes. The information has caught the attention of domestic civil aviation industry in a big way.

The original sources also disclosed that the privately-owned carrier had the plan to join SkyTeam in the near future.

Currently, only four Chinese airlines are operating 787 Dreamliner, namely Air China (CA), China Southern Airlines (CZ), Hainan Airlines (HU) and Xiamen Airlines (MF).
