American Airlines commenced services between Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Sioux City (SUX) on 5 May. The 1,059-kilometre sector from the Texan hub to the Iowa airport will be flown daily according to OAG Schedules Analyser data. Current schedules show flights leaving Dallas/Fort Worth at 12:40, arriving into Sioux City at 14:46. Return services will leave at 15:25, arriving back at into Texas at 17:39. The city pair will be flown onboard American Eagle’s 50-seat ERJ 145 fleet. Commenting on the route, Dan Moore, a member of Sioux City Council, said: “Dallas is one of the most favoured destinations for ‘Siouxlanders’, and city leaders say the connection from Sioux City to Dallas/Fort Worth is a new opportunity to travel south and easily connect to more than 200 markets and 24 countries.” Dallas/Fort Worth becomes American Airlines’ second route from Sioux City, with the oneworld member already offering twice-daily services to Chicago O’Hare onboard the same aircraft type it uses on its newest service. These are the only two scheduled services currently operating at the airport.
