Vanilla Air has become the 11th carrier to offer non-stop flights between Osaka Kansai (KIX) and Taipei Taoyuan (TPE).



This is the carrier’s first route from Osaka as all of its other routes are from Tokyo Narita. The LCC, which recently took delivery of its ninth A320, will offer daily flights on the 1,703-kilometre route. The inaugural flight operated on 27 April departing Taipei at 2150 and arrived in Osaka at 0135 the following morning. The first flight from Osaka was scheduled to depart at 0235 and arrive in Taipei at 0430. Vanilla Air is venturing into highly competitive waters as the route is already served by 10 other carriers according to OAG Schedules Analyser data. China Airlines (26 weekly flights), Peach Aviation (21), EVA Air (19), Japan Airlines (14), Tigerair Taiwan (14), Transasia Airways (14), Jetstar Asia (11), Cathay Pacific Airways, Jetstar Japan and V Air, the last three all offering daily flights, already offer many flight options for passengers.
