At least 10 people received minor injuries as a Lahore-bound Shaheen Air flight made an emergency landing on Tuesday at the Allama Iqbal International Airport.
The NL-142 flight which departed from Karachi was forced to make an emergency landing as its tyres burst, according to initial reports. At least 112 passengers and seven crew members were on board the flight.
Initial reports suggest the plane ran off the runway as its tyre burst. However, conflicting reports suggest there was a technical error.
All passengers have been evacuated safely from the aircraft, a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) official told The Express Tribune.
In September, an aircraft carrying Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his colleagues made an emergency landing after it developed a technical fault after take-off. A spokesman for the Punjab government said the chief minister was on his way to Islamabad to attend a meeting. He said a few minutes after take-off, the aircraft developed a fault. He said the pilot had initially failed to land the aircraft.
