FLEET - Transavia receives sixteenth Airbus from Toulouse

Transavia welcomed its sixteenth Airbus A321neo on Thursday, May 7. With this, the airline is taking another step towards quieter and more fuel-efficient flight operations. The aircraft, with registration PH-YHP, was delivered from the Airbus factory in Toulouse.

Keeping flying accessible

Transavia wants to keep flying accessible to a wide audience. Therefore, the airline is investing in more efficient and quieter flying.

The Airbus A321neo emits on average 15 percent less CO2 per passenger than the Boeing 737 that is being phased out. It also produces approximately 50 percent less noise. In doing so, it contributes to reducing noise pollution around airports, such as Schiphol. By now, more than half of the Transavia fleet at Amsterdam Airport consists of quieter Airbus aircraft. FLEET / NEW LIVERY - Transavia receives fifteenth Airbus A321neo

Transavia officially took delivery of its fifteenth Airbus A321neo in Hamburg Finkenwerder on Wednesday, February 11. The aircraft, registered PH-YHQ, increases the number of quieter, more fuel-efficient Airbus aircraft in the Transavia fleet.

The delivery took place in the presence of CEO Paul Terstegge, who joined Transavia in February, and CFO Pieter Wensveen. The visit focused not only on the delivery but also on the intensive collaboration with Airbus in the coming years.

The plane landed at Schiphol on Thursday afternoon, February 12.

New look

The PH-YHQ is the second aircraft to feature the new livery introduced in 2025. All new Airbus aircraft entering service from now on will have this look.

Complete switch to Airbus

The fleet renewal is proceeding gradually. Aircraft from the Airbus A320neo family are gradually replacing Transavia's Boeing 737s. This new generation of aircraft ensures less noise and lower CO₂ emissions per seat.

With the delivery of PH-YHQ, the Airbus fleet now consists of fifteen aircraft. Ten Boeing 737s have left the Transavia fleet. The complete transition to Airbus is scheduled for 2031.

 

NEW LIVERY - Transavia receives first Airbus A321neo in new livery

Transavia took delivery of its fourteenth Airbus A321neo today. The aircraft, registration PH-YHR, is the first to feature the updated Transavia livery. With this delivery, the airline is taking another important step in its continued fleet renewal.

The PH-YHR landed at Schiphol today and is immediately being deployed for its first commercial flights. With the arrival of this aircraft, more than half of the Transavia fleet at Schiphol now consists of the new Airbus aircraft, which are quieter and more fuel-efficient than the Boeing 737s they replace.

The new livery is part of Transavia's recently launched brand identity. All Airbus aircraft added to the fleet from now on will feature this updated look. The iconic 'T' and the characteristic, refreshed green remain prominently featured in the updated livery.

Fleet renewal

NEW LIVERY - Fourteenth Airbus A321neo rolls out of hangar in new style

Transavia's fourteenth Airbus A321neo rolled out of the Airbus paint hangar in Hamburg Finkenwerder. The aircraft is the first for Transavia Netherlands to feature the updated livery and will be delivered in mid-December.

The new livery is part of the revamped brand identity that Transavia recently launched. All Airbus aircraft rolling out of the factory from now on will feature this look. The first images of this were already released in September, featuring Transavia France's A320neo, which was delivered on November 5th.

Fleet renewal

Transavia will be renewing its entire fleet in the coming years with modern Airbus A321neos and smaller A320neos. SPECIAL LIVERY - Transavia to introduce a retrojet

On 21 October 2025, Transavia will celebrate its 60th birthday. To mark this important milestone, the airline is set to introduce a retrojet. This new Airbus A321neo is scheduled to be delivered in the summer of this year.

The featured livery is inspired on the livery that the airline introduced in 1966. It was designed by Thijs Postma, who also introduced the color green and "T" as the airline's logo. Both elements are still part of the livery today.

Transavia (Netherlands) currently operates a fleet of seven A321neos and 40 Boeing B737-800s. Sister Transavia France has a fleet that's made-up of nine A320neos and 68 B737-800s.

FLEET - Transavia France Airbus A320-200N

Transavia France (TO, Paris Orly) has taken delivery of its first A320-200neo, its first Airbus aircraft as it transitions from an all Boeing fleet.

F-GNEO (msn 11918) will be based at Paris Orly and is the first of thirteen A320neo the carrier expects this year. The ferry flight took place on January 10, 2024 from Toulouse Blagnac to Orly.

On lease from Avolon, this aircraft is equipped with CFM International LEAP-1A engines, and is configured with 186 seats in a single class. Its first scheduled flight occurred on January 15, with service to Porto.

According to the French civil aviation registry, F-GNEO was registered on December 29, 2023. ch-aviation fleets advanced data shows Transavia France has a fleet composed of seventy-one 189-seater B737-800s, of which 61 are leased and ten are owned. None of these planes are leased from Avolon.

Last month, sister carrier Transavia Airlines (HV, Amsterdam Schiphol) took delivery of its maiden A321-200neo. In 2021, Air France-KLM placed a firm order for 100 A320neo family jets with options for an additional 60.

The group has the objective of reaching 64% new-generation aircraft in the fleet by 2028.

 

FLEET / AIRBUS - Transavia France takes delivery of its first A320neo

Toulouse, 10 January 2024 - French low-cost carrier Transavia France, part of the Air France-KLM Group, has taken delivery of its first A320neo, on lease from Avolon, from Airbus manufacturing site in Toulouse. The airline has opted for the Airbus option to have the delivery flight to Paris-Orly powered by a sustainable aviation fuel blend on board.

The new aircraft features 186 seats in a single class layout. Selected for its outstanding operational efficiency, reduced emissions and comfort, the A320neo will be deployed by Transavia France on its services on its domestic network as well as across its European and Mediterranean markets.

The introduction of its first A320neo aircraft marks the beginning of Transavia France' transition to become an all Airbus operator, powered by efficient A320neo Family aircraft. With its reduced fuel burn and emissions, the A320neo will play a key role in advancing the airline Group's sustainable development goals.

By incorporating new generation CFM International LEAP-1A engines and Sharklets, the A320neo brings a 50% noise footprint reduction and 20% fuel savings and CO2 reduction compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft, while improving passenger comfort in a wider single-aisle cabin.

The cabin features Airbus’ Airspace XL bins. The larger bins provide 40% more stowage space compared to conventional bins, for a more relaxed boarding. In addition, USB-C ports are available for passengers at each seat, and the latest lighting system enhances the overall passenger experience.

The A320neo Family is the world’s most popular single aisle having won nearly 9,800 orders from nearly 140 customers in all markets.

FLEET - Transavia takes delivery of maiden A321neo

Transavia Airlines (HV, Amsterdam Schiphol) has taken delivery of its first A321-200N all the while its French sister carrier, Transavia France (TO, Paris Orly), is due to shortly induct its first A320-200N.

PH-YHZ (msn 11702) is the first of seven A321-200N due on lease from Air Lease Corporation. It was initially due to deliver to Amsterdam Schiphol on December 7, 2023, but the plan was delayed by mechanical damage at the manufacturer's site. Despite the formal handover taking place on December 15, the Dutch low-cost carrier will only ferry the aircraft to Amsterdam Schiphol on December 19.

Meanwhile, A320neo F-GNEO (msn 11918) has already been painted into Transavia France's livery and operated its first flight on December 15, 2023 (still as F-WWDD), ch-aviation research revealed.

Transavia Airlines currently operates an all-Boeing fleet comprising four B737-700s and forty B737-800s (including ten on lease from Air Lease Corporation), while Transavia France's fleet comprises seventy-one B737-800s, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows. It will transition to an all-Airbus fleet following the order for 100 A320neo Family aircraft, with a further 60 options, placed by its parent holding, Air France-KLM. The aircraft are due to be split between Transavia Airlines, Transavia France, and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol), with no disclosed plans to place any of them with Air France (AF, Paris CDG). The aircraft ordered directly from the manufacturer will be supplemented by more dry-leased units.

The deliveries of the aircraft directly from the manufacturer are currently expected to begin in the second quarter of 2024.
