Air Botswana takes delivery of its first ATR 72-600

Toulouse, 5 November 2018 – Air Botswana, the Botswana national flag carrier, took delivery of its first ATR 72-600 last Friday. The aircraft, delivered in Toulouse, is the first of a contract signed in July for two ATR 72-600s. The second is planned for delivery before the end of the year. The ATR 72-600s will upgrade Air Botswana’s current fleet of three ATR 42-500s and one ATR 72-500s.The brand-new aircraft is configured with a 70-seat, dual class cabin and equipped with the latest avionics. With these two ATR 72-600, the Botswana airline makes a clear forward looking decision to benefit from a fleet with the most modern turboprops equipped with cutting-edge technology.

ATR 72 ready to fly in Japan

Toulouse, 29 October, 2018 – Japan Air Commuter Co. Ltd (JAC) today took delivery of its first ATR 72-600 following the conversion in June of one of its orders of an ATR 42-600 to its larger 72 version. The aircraft will have a 70-seat configuration.

The first ATR 42-600 entered service with JAC in early 2017 and the up-gauging of this order reflects the -600’s ability to effectively open and grow routes with the lowest possible risks, thanks to its 40% fuel burn advantage over its turboprop rival. The delivery of this larger aircraft allows JAC to fly more passengers to airports with shorter runways that are only accessible by turboprop. JAC have already taken delivery of five ATR 42-600 aircraft and they are going to introduce first ATR 72-600 in Japan with this delivery. With the delivery of the ATR 72-600 they will benefit from the commonality between the models. The ATR 42 and 72 share a Single Type Rating and 90% of spare parts. The versatility of the ATR -600 Series allows it to go where other aircraft simply cannot follow, performing a variety of operations with unbeatable economics.

Bombardier Delivers First 90-seat Q400 Aircraft to SpiceJet

SpiceJet becomes the first airline to take advantage of the Q400 aircraft’s increased profit potential

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft today announced the delivery of its first 90-seat Q400 aircraft. The aircraft was handed over to India’s SpiceJet Limited (“SpiceJet”) the launch operator for the extra-capacity, 90-seat aircraft.

Delta Air Lines Becomes Launch Operator of ATMOSPHÈRE Cabin with New Order for 20 Bombardier CRJ900

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced today that Delta Air Lines, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia (Delta Air Lines) has signed a firm purchase agreement for 20 CRJ900 aircraft – becoming the launch operator of the new ATMOSPHÈRE cabin for CRJ Series regional jets.

Based on the list price for the CRJ900 aircraft, the firm order is valued at approximately US$961 million.

Delta Air Lines will take delivery of the world’s first ATMOSPHÈRE cabin CRJ900 aircraft in late 2018.

Including the order form Delta Air Lines announced today, Bombardier has recorded firm orders for 1953 CRJ Series aircraft.

The ATR 72-600 arrives in Japan

Toulouse, 5 June, 2018 – Japan Air Commuter Co. Ltd. (JAC) and ATR today announced the conversion into an ATR 72-600 of one of the ATR 42-600s that the airline currently has on order. This conversion means the arrival of the ATR 72 in Japan. The carrier and ATR have previously signed firm contracts for the introduction of nine ATR 42-600s. JAC, a regional subsidiary of Japan Airlines (JAL), introduced its first ATR 42-600 early in 2017 and today operates four of the aircraft. The delivery of the ATR 72-600 is expected before the end of this year.

The converted ATR 72-600 will be configured with 70 seats, adding seat capacity to the overall offer of the airline. Japan has many beautiful islands that both national and foreign tourists visit to enjoy their unique nature and countryside. The ATR aircraft, because of their size and ability to operate in small airfields and short runways, are perfectly suited for these regions. Also, as of today, over one third of the domestic routes in Japan are below 300 nm, a distance optimally suited for ATR’s performance and efficiency.

airBaltic Orders up to 60 Bombardier CS300 Aircraft

• All-C Series fleet is the backbone of airBaltic’s new business plan – Destination 2025 
• Order brings the C Series firm order book to over 400 aircraft

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft and Air Baltic Corporation AS (airBaltic) announced today that the parties have executed a firm purchase agreement for the sale and purchase of 30 CS300 aircraft with options and purchase rights for an additional 30 aircraft of the same type.

Based on the list price of the CS300 aircraft, the firm order is valued at approximately US$ 2.9 billion. This amount would increase to nearly US$5.9 billion should all 15 options and 15 purchase rights be exercised.

“As the C Series aircraft program continues to gain market acceptance, this significant reorder from our CS300 launch operator is a strong testimony to the aircraft’s exceptional in-service performance,”said Fred Cromer, President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “Furthermore, we are proud that the CS300 has helped airBaltic maintain its position as one of the world’s most punctual airlines. With this order, airBaltic becomes the largest European C Series customer and the second largest customer worldwide with 50 aircraft on firm order. The airline’s new business plan relies on significant expansion of routes from all three Baltic countries – Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.

Deliveries pertaining to this new order are scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2019. Prior to this order, airBaltic had ordered 20 CS300 aircraft. The airline is currently operating revenue service with eight CS300 aircraft.

Ethiopian Airlines Signs Purchase Agreement for 10 firm Q400 Aircraft

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced today that it has concluded a firm order for 10 new Q400 aircraft with Ethiopian Airlines. The order also includes purchase rights for five additional Q400 aircraft.

Based on the list price of the Q400 aircraft, the firm order is valued at approximately $332 million U.S.

Mandarin Airlines adds a Global Maintenance Agreement to its partnership with ATR

ATR reaches a key milestone of more than 300 in-service aircraft covered

by its flagship maintenance offer


Toulouse, April 11, 2018 – ATR and Mandarin Airlines, a regional subsidiary of Taiwan’s flag carrier China Airlines, have signed a Global Maintenance Agreement (GMA). This comprehensive support package covers the repair, overhaul and pooling services of Line Replaceable Units, along with a door-to-door service through which ATR is providing transportation of spares to the airline’s facilities.

This GMA covers the entire ATR fleet of the Taiwanese carrier, consisting of nine ATR 72-600s. World’s leading turboprop manufacturer ATR hereby reaches a key milestone of more than 300 in-service aircraft under GMAs. Through ATR’s flagship maintenance offer, Mandarin Airlines will benefit from an a la carte pay-by-the-hour maintenance package, with a high level of flexibility that makes it possible to meet a wide range of specific needs, depending on the operator’s local resources, fleet and expected operations.

Mandarin Airlines’ President, Jenny Tsao, declared: “In terms of maintenance and repair, the ATR GMA allows us to minimise our own stock level while maintaining an adequate level of protection. Bombardier and PSA Airlines Extend Heavy Maintenance Agreement for the Airline’s Fleet of CRJ Series Aircraft

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced today that Bombardier Services Corporation and PSA Airlines, Inc. (PSA Airlines) of Vandalia, Ohio recently signed a three-year extension to the parties’ heavy maintenance agreement. Under this contract, heavy maintenance tasks for the airline’s fleet of Bombardier CRJ200, CRJ700 and CRJ900 aircraft will be performed at Bombardier’s West Virginia Air Center. Bombardier has conducted heavy maintenance for PSA Airlines since 2005.

PSA Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group operates a fleet comprised exclusively of 126 CRJ regional jets. The airline operates the aircraft under the American Eagle regional brand.

Bombardier and Conair Announce Purchase Agreement for Six Q400 Aircraft for Conversion into Q400 Multirole Airtankers

The first six aircraft to be supplied to Conair under its airtanker teaming agreement with Bombardier
Aircraft will be modified to incorporate Conair’s proven Retardant Delivery System and interiors to accommodate passenger, cargo, combi, and medivac requirements
Enhanced Q400 Multirole aircraft will join Bombardier’s fleet of over 1,000 specialized aircraft operating around the world

Bombardier Specialized Aircraft announced today that Conair Group Inc., the world’s leading provider of fixed wing aerial firefighting aircraft, has purchased six Q400 aircraft. Based on the current list price, the firm order is valued at approximately $206 million US. Conair operates the world’s largest fleet of privately owned fixed wing airtankers and supplies specialty aerial firefighting aircraft and products worldwide. These six Q400 production aircraft will be modified to incorporate an enhanced version of Conair’s proprietary Retardant Delivery System. In the Q400 Multirole configuration, the retardant tank can be removed and reinstalled in the field in a few hours. This enables the aircraft to efficiently perform additional roles in emergency response, passenger and cargo transport, medivac, and coastal patrol without compromising its exceptional firefighting capabilities.

Customer Orders up to Twelve Bombardier CRJ900 Aircraft

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced today that a customer, who has requested to remain unidentified at this time, has signed an order to acquire six CRJ900 aircraft on firm order and options on six additional CRJ900 regional jets.

Based on list price, the firm orders would be valued at approximately $290 million US. Should the customer exercise the six options for CRJ900 aircraft, the contract value would increase to approximately $580 million US.

EgyptAir Converts Letter of Intent to Firm Order for Bombardier C Series aircraft

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft and EgyptAir Holding Company announced today that the parties have executed a firm agreement for the sale and purchase of

12 CS300 aircraft along with purchase rights for an additional 12 CS300 aircraft.

EgyptAir’s Letter of Intent (LOI) was previously announced on November 14 during the 2017 Dubai Air Show.

Bombardier Delivers Korean Air Line’s First CS300 Airliner

Korean Air Line is the C Series Asian launch customer
Entry-into-service is expected to occur in January 2018

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft today celebrated the delivery of a first CS300 aircraft to Seoul-based Korean Air Lines Co., Ltd., the Asian launch customer for the C Series aircraft family.

“This is a very important milestone for the C Series program because it is our breakthrough into the fast-growing Asian market, and we are honored to have Korean Air Lines as our brand ambassador in the region,” said Fred Cromer, President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “We expect that over the next 20 years, Asian operators will take delivery of 2,870 small single-aisle aircraft. We are thrilled that Korean Air is the first in the region to showcase the CS300 aircraft’s outstanding performance and capabilities.”

Executives from Korean Air and Bombardier and several hundred shop floor employees who build the C Series aircraft attended the delivery ceremony at the C Series production facility at Mirabel, Quebec.

The CS300 aircraft will allow Korean Air to allocate its larger single-aisle jets and wide body aircraft to routes requiring their capacity and “right size” the Bombardier jet to lower-density regional routes. Korean Air may later take advantage of the CS300 aircraft’s range and expand internationally.

Korean Air Lines is expected to take delivery of their second CS300 before year-end - another 127seat dual-class configuration with Premium Economy and Economy seating.

Korean Air’s firm order for 10 CS300 aircraft, with options for 10 and purchase rights for an additional 10 was announced on July 29, 2011, following the Letter of Intent announced a month previously at the International Le Bourget Paris Air Show.

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced today that CemAir (PTY) Ltd of South Africa has concluded a firm purchase agreement for two new Q400 turboprops, and has also signed the lease of a used Q400 aircraft that was delivered this month, paving the way for the new aircraft to be delivered afterwards. The letter of Intent (LOI) from CemAir, which was signed on June 21 at the 2017 Paris Air Show, has now been converted into a firm order.

Based on the list price of the Q400 aircraft, the firm order is valued at approximately $66 million US.

With these Q400 aircraft, CemAir would increase its current fleet of Bombardier aircraft to 17 – including five Q Series turboprops and 12 CRJ Series aircraft. CemAir recently added a used CRJ900 aircraft to its fleet, the first in South Africa.

Bombardier signs Letter of intent with EgyptAir for up to 24 CS300 aircraft

This deal covers 12 firm orders and 12 purchase rights

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced today, from the Dubai Airshow, that it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) for up to 24 CS300 aircraft with EgyptAir Holding Company, of Cairo. This includes 12 CS300 aircraft with purchase rights for an additional 12 aircraft.

‎Based on the list price of the CS300 airliner, a firm-order contract would be valued at approximately $1.1 billion US. Should EgyptAir also exercise the 12 purchase rights for CS300 aircraft, the contract value would increase to nearly $2.2 billion US.‎

In the presence of His Excellency Minister of Civil Aviation of Egypt Mr. Sherif Fathi, a press conference was held at the Dubai Airshow where Safwat Musallam, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company and Fred Cromer, President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft celebrated the signature of the letter of intent, which opens a new chapter in the relationship between the two companies.

We undertook a thorough evaluation process of our fleet and realized that the CS300 would fit perfectly into our business plans and growth strategy,” said Safwat Musallam.

Bombardier Signs Largest Ever Q400 Turboprop Order with SpiceJet for up to 50 Aircraft

SpiceJet to become the launch customer of the extra-capacity, 90-Seat Q400 aircraft

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft today announced that it has concluded a firm purchase agreement with SpiceJet Limited (“SpiceJet”) of Gurgaon, India for up to 50 Q400 turboprop airliners, making it the largest single order ever for the Q400 turboprop aircraft program and bringing total Q400 firm orders to over 600 Q400 aircraft. Upon delivery, the airline will become the first in the world to operate a 90-seat turboprop, pending certification by regulatory authorities.

The purchase agreement includes 25 Q400 turboprops and purchase rights on an additional 25 aircraft. Based on list prices, the order is valued at up to US $ 1.7 billion.

Bombardier C Series Aircraft Completes First Commercial Flight into London City Airport

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft celebrated another important milestone for the C Series aircraft program with the first revenue flight into London City Airport, a Swiss International Airlines (SWISS) CS100 jetliner from Zurich.

The C Series is now the largest passenger aircraft certified to operate from the London City Airport with the longest range. A single-class CS100 aircraft can also fly 2,200 nm (4,074 km) from London City. The CS100 jetliner is the only commercial aircraft that can fly London City-New York non-stop, in an all-business class configuration.

Bombardier Unveils Ethiopian Airlines as Previously Undisclosed Customer that Ordered Q400 Aircraft

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft announced today that Ethiopian Airlines Enterprise is the previously undisclosed customer that signed a firm purchase agreement for five additional Q400 turboprop aircraft. Based on the list price of the Q400 aircraft, the contract is valued at approximately $162 million US.

“Our relationship with Ethiopian Airlines extends beyond straight buyer-seller,” said Colin Bole, Senior Vice President, Commercial, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “Ethiopian is an Authorized Service Facility for Q400 aircraft and operates the only Q400 aircraft flight simulator in Africa. In addition, we have worked together to support other Q400 aircraft operators such as RwandAir, Congo Airways and Air Tanzania.”
