Spain's CanaryFly leasing a Portuguese ATR42

CanaryFly (PM, Las Palmas) has wet-leased an ATR42-320 from Portuguese operator Lease Fly (LZF, Cascais) while the Canary Islands carrier awaits the delivery of its maiden ATR72-500 OY-YAN (cn 570) which is currently being prepared at Toulouse Francazal.


CS-DVL (cn 333) was positioned from Limoges to Las Palmas last week where it has now joined another ATR42-300 and four ATR72-200s on scheduled flights from CanaryFly's Las Palmas base to Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, and Tenerife Norte and from Tenerife Norte to Santa Cruz de La Palma.


International operations to Dakhla and Laayoune in Morocco appear to have been suspended for the time being.

CanaryFly retires last Metroliner from commercial service

CanaryFly withdrew its last remaining Metroliner from revenue service on March 1. 

The Canary Islands-based carrier originally operated three of the type of which EC-IRS (cn BC-786B) was the last remaining in commercial operation.

CanaryFly used the turboprops on short-haul flights within the Canary Islands and as well on select international services to the African mainland.

CanaryFly takes on Binter on inter-island routes

CanaryFly has launched six weekly scheduled services from Las Palmas Gran Canaria International to both Fuerteventura El Matorral and Lanzarote Arrecife on December 10, 2012 already following the bankruptcy of Islas Airways
It currently operates its single ATR 42-300
CanaryFly plans to lease a larger ATR 72 in the next couple of weeks. It had previously concentrated on niche routes from the Canary Islands to Mauritania and Morocco.
