New Pacific Airlines ceases operations

On 26 November 2025, New Pacific Airlines announced that is has ceased all operations effective immediately and filed for bankruptcy.

Originally founded as Northern Pacific Airways in September 2021, the airline had big ambitions to connect US cities like Las Vegas (NV) and Los Angeles (CA) via Anchorage (AK) with destinations in Asia like Seoul and Tokyo.

In September 2023, it began however with operating regular flights between Las Vegas (NV) and Ontario (CA). It was forced to do so as the Japanese and South Korean authorities had not certified the airline but also the closure of Russian airspace prevented the airline from launching their plans.

After flying regular between Ontario (CA) and Las Vegas (NV), Nashville (TN), and Reno (NV), Northern Pacific Airways rebranded itself as New Pacific Airlines and positioned itself as a charter carrier. 

It reconfigured its fleet into a business class lay-out and mainly operated flights for sports teams and music bands.

Despite all of this, the airline never was able to post a profit and the losses became unsustainable to continue operating. 

It had a fleet of three Boeing B757-200s:

Titan Airways retires last B757

Titan Airways announced on 11 May 2023, that it has retired its final Boeing aircraft in the fleet, B757-200 G-ZAPX. The aircraft carried out its final flight on 4 May 2023 already, flying from Accra to London-Stansted, where it's now parked.

Between 2003 and 2023, Titan Airways operated four different B757-200s. With the type's retirement, and last month's retirement of its final B737, Titan Airways has now become an all-Airbus operator.

Royal Flight expands with a sixth Boeing 757

The leased narrowbody will perform its first revenue flight for the carrier from Tomsk in Russia to Pattaya in Thailand (Royal Flight)

Royal Flight has taken delivery of a Boeing 757 narrowbody, bringing the total number of such airliners in its fleet up to six, the Russian carrier’s spokesperson told Russian Aviation Insider.

The aircraft, registration code VP-BLB, delivered on operating lease terms, seats 235 passengers. On March 24 the 757 was ferried to Tomsk, from where it will complete its first revenue flight with the new operator to U-Tapao airport in Pattaya, Thailand.

This new addition brings Royal Flight’s overall fleet to nine aircraft. Apart from the six 757s, the carrier operates one Boeing 737-800 narrowbody and two Boeing 767 widebodies. The airline has plans to further expand its fleet, but prefers not to announce any details just yet.

Royal Flight occupies 14th place among Russian carriers by passenger traffic, which grew 14.6% in 2016 to 994,200 passengers. Traffic data for the first two months of this year indicate a further increase of almost 250% year-on-year, reaching 153,600 passengers. The airline operates mainly to the UAE, India, Austria, Spain, Greece, Thailand, Vietnam, Morocco, and Tunisia.

UTair has launched Azur Air as a new charter operation currently operating under the air operator certificate of subsidiary Katekavia.

Three B757-200s have already been transferred to Azur Air in the meantime: 

VP-BLV (msn 30043), VQ-BEZ (msn 29377) and VQ-BEY (msn 29382).
UTair is expected to transfer its other six B757-200s to Azur Air as well in the near future.
