DHL Express launches its first network flight to Argentina

With a capacity of 52 tons per flight, this new direct route benefits customers shipping between the U.S. and Argentina

PLANTATION, Fla., Sept. 5, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- DHL, the world's leading provider of international express shipping, has announced the launch of a new dedicated network flight to Argentina. The flight operates six times per week between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Buenos Aires, Argentina (EZE), with a stopover in Santiago, Chile (SCL), before returning to Miami (MIA).




Operated by DHL Aero Expreso, the Boeing B767-300 aircraft will provide a gross payload capacity of 52 tons per flight. The new, dedicated network flight will improve service reliability and increase capacity to support DHL's international shipping customers. This is the first DHL dedicated network flight serving Argentina.

The new DHL network flight will improve delivery times for U.S. origin shipments, resulting in a 10% increase in shipments clearing Customs the same day the flight arrives in Argentina, and a 50% increase in shipments being delivered the same day they are cleared. Service for shipments originating in Argentina have also improved, enabling 100% of shipments to be exported, at the latest, the day following the pick-up.

DHL Aero Expreso is a Panama-based airline that operates cargo services in Latin America and the Caribbean. The new flight to Argentina marks a significant milestone for DHL Express, as it continues to expand its dedicated network capacity in the region. In 2021, the company added Chile to its dedicated network with a direct flight from the United States. In 2022, Brazil was incorporated into the network as well, with more than 600 tons of cargo capacity per week. This flight also improved connectivity with Central America through its connection in Colombia.

Last year, DHL Express introduced several new routes, including a flight to and from Vietnam and the United States as bilateral trade increased, adding 102 tons of additional capacity per flight; a new route between Japan and the United States, also in response to the increasing international shipping needs between these two countries, adding 102 tons of additional capacity per flight, six times per week.

Bahrain's DHL International ends B767-200 operations

DHL International Aviation Middle East (ES, Bahrain International) has retired its last B767-200(SF) and thus completed its transition to an all-B767-300F fleet.

A9C-DHQ (msn 22790), a 39.8-year-old jet operated by the Bahraini DHL Express carrier since 2018, flew commercially for the last time on May 27, 2023, from Jeddah to Bahrain International. Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows it was ferried to Leipzig/Halle on the same day, and onwards to Bangor and Wilmington, NC on May 28-29. The aircraft was the last of seven B767-200(SF)s once operated by DHL International Aviation Middle East.

Following the retirement of the -200(SF)s, the Bahraini airline now operates six B767-300(ERBCF)s and three B767-300(ERBDSF)s. It has plans to further grow the -300 fleet up to 12 units.

DHL Express And Singapore Airlines Partnership Takes Off With New Boeing Freighter Aircraf

DHL Express, the world’s leading international express service provider, has welcomed the arrival of its new Boeing 777 freighter at Singapore Changi Airport. The freighter, which sports a dual DHL-Singapore Airlines (SIA) livery, has a maximum capacity of 102 tonnes. SIA will operate it on routes to the United States of America via South Korea thrice weekly from August 2022.

In March 2022, DHL Express and SIA signed a Crew and Maintenance agreement to deploy five Boeing 777 freighters. These freighters will be operated by SIA pilots, with the maintenance overseen by SIA.

The second Boeing 777 freighter is slated to enter into service in November 2022, following which both freighters will operate the Singapore-Incheon-Los Angeles-Honolulu-Singapore route six times weekly. The remaining three freighters are planned for delivery throughout 2023. Following this, all five freighters will operate on routes between the United States and Singapore via points in North Asia and Australia.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Nov. 15, 2021 /PRNewswire    / -- DHL Express (DHL) and Boeing [NYSE: BA] today announced that the logistics company placed a firm order for nine more 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF). Representing their largest single 767-300BCF order to date, the additional freighters will help expand DHL's long-haul intercontinental fleet in response to increased global demand for cargo capacity.

DHL Express continues modernizing growing fleet by adding four Boeing 767-300BCFs

SEATTLE, July 22, 2020 — DHL Express and Boeing [NYSE: BA] announced that it will add four 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF) as part of the logistics company’s efforts to continue modernizing and growing its fleet with cost-efficient and reliable freighters.


This step is part of DHL’s effort to modernize its long-haul intercontinental fleet in order to fly more eco-friendly and cost-efficiently. The aircraft are converted from passenger to freighter configuration by Boeing to fit the needs of DHL Express and meet the rising global demand for express services.

DHL has taken a delivery of first A330-200F formerly operated by Etihad

DHL Subsidiary, EAT Leipzig, has taken delivery of its first Airbus A330-200F (D-ALMA), an ex-Etihad Crystal Cargo Aircraft (formerly A6-DCA).

The Arab carrier has effectively phased out all the A330Fs from its cargo fleet, transitioning to an all-Boeing 777F operation. Etihad withdrew these young A330s at the beginning of the year as part of a major fleet reorganization plan that aims to cut costs and streamline its cargo operation through a single-type fleet system. The planes have been in storage since January.
As the Abu Dhabi-based carrier continues to reorganize its business, the largest cuts have been on both its route network and fleet. Other than the Airbus A330Fs, the carrier also phased out its five Boeing 777-200(ER) fleet. Etihad’s freighter fleet remains with five Boeing 777Fs, all of which are deployed on cargo flights from Abu Dhabi to India, the Far East, China, Sub-Saharan Africa, North/South America, and Europe.

First A330-300P2F enters service with DHL

DHL Express operations benefit from new-generation efficient mid-sized freighter
DHL Express has become the first operator to take delivery of the A330-300 Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) converted aircraft from Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), the joint venture between ST Aerospace and Airbus. This delivery, which took place at EFW’s freighter conversion facilities in Dresden, follows the successful completion of test flights in October and awarding of the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in November. DHL Express has firm orders for eight A330-300P2F units in total, with additional options to receive another 10.

The A330P2F conversion programme, launched in 2012, is a collaboration between ST Aerospace, Airbus and their joint venture EFW. ST Aerospace, as the programme and technical lead for the engineering development phase, is responsible for applying for the STCs from EASA and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Airbus contributes to the programme with OEM data and certification support, while EFW leads the industrialisation phase and marketing for the freighter conversion programme.

The A330P2F programme has two variants – the A330-200P2F and the larger A330-300P2F. The latter is ideal for serving the international express B2B and e-commerce cargo markets, which typically have a higher volume and lower density. The aircraft can carry up to 62 metric tonnes over 3,650 nautical miles, while offering 20 percent more cargo volume and lower cost-per-tonne than other available freighter aircraft types with a similar range.

DHL Introduces Boeing 767 Cargo Service in Detroit

DHL, the world’s leading international express services provider, today announced a new flight that enhances service for U.S. importers and exporters based in Michigan.

Stationed at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, the new Boeing 767-200 cargo flight enables DHL to provide earlier delivery times and later pick-up times, equally by one hour on average. International customers within Detroit and the surrounding areas, as well as in mid- and western Michigan, will greatly benefit from the new service.

DHL Express places 'significant' B757 P2F conversion order

DHL Air (D0, East Midlands) parent firm DHL Express has booked an unspecified, but significant, number of B757-200PCF conversions CargoFacts magazine has reported. The orders are with Boeing-licensed conversion specialist Precision Aircraft Solutions.
