Taron Avia now eyes scheduled pax ops in 2Q17

Taron Avia (H7, Erebuni) has revised its operational plans and now intends to begin scheduled passenger services later this month with flights to Russia.




Whereas the Armenian operator has previously set start dates of August 2016, delayed to January 2017, a press release indicates that effective April 25, it will roll out return services from Gyoumri, Armenia, to each of Krasnodar (2x weekly), Rostov (1x weekly), and Samara Kurumoch (1x weekly) using B737-500 equipment.
Taron Avia currently offers passenger charters services using a trio of B737-500s. While two machines are currently undergoing maintenance in each of Amman Queen Alia and Khartoum, one, EK73772 (msn 28472), is in service for Sudan's Badr Airlines (J4, Khartoum).

Armenia's Taron Avia eyes scheduled pax ops in 4Q

Taron Avia (H7, Erebuni) is planning to venture into the scheduled passenger services market later this year based on ch-aviation analysis of schedule data.

The Armenian passenger charter specialist plans to serve the following destinations from its Yerevan hub effective October 29: Beirut (1x weekly); Nizhniy Novgorod (1x weekly); Krasnodar (4x weekly); Samara Kurumoch (1x weekly); Moscow Vnukovo (daily); and Voronezh Chertovitskoye (1x weekly).

Service is on-board Taron Avia's B737-500s of which it operates two, both of which are currently wet-leased to Sudan's Badr Airlines (J4, Khartoum).

Taron Avia eyes Russia flights from late 3Q

Taron Avia (TRV, Erebuni) is planning to deploy its fleet of three B737-500s on scheduled flights to Russia later this quarter airline chairman Garnik Papikyan has told ATO news in an interview.

 Papikyan says he sees strong potential in the Armenia-Russia market.

 "We will be based in Yerevan," he said. "From the Armenian capital, we mainly want to fly to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod, Rostov, Krasnodar, Adler/Sochi, Volgograd, Voronezh Chertovitskoye and others."

 Presently, the start-up's B737 fleet is undergoing C-Checks and repainting in Jordan ahead of a planned September launch.

 According to its website, Taron-Avia also operates five freighters - one Il-76TD and four An-12BPs.
