ORDER - AEGEAN Airlines Expands Fleet with New ATR 72-600, Two More on Order

Toulouse, 7 October 2025 – AEGEAN Airlines, through its subsidiary Olympic Air, has welcomed a brand-new ATR 72-600 to its fleet, marking a significant step in its regional fleet renewal strategy. In a further vote of confidence in ATR’s latest-generation aircraft, AEGEAN has also placed a direct order for two additional ATR 72-600s, scheduled for delivery in December 2026.

This new order underscores AEGEAN’s and Olympic Air’s long-term commitment to fleet modernisation and sustainability, while also reflecting their confidence in the ATR product. Operating turboprop services across domestic routes within Greece and nearby international destinations, Olympic Air currently flies a fleet of 15 ATR aircraft (12 ATR 72-600s and three ATR 42-600s).
Michalis Kouveliotis, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of AEGEAN Airlines, commented: “We are pleased to welcome the new ATR 72-600 to our fleet and anticipate the arrival of two more aircraft by December 2026. These additions reflect AEGEAN’s and Olympic Air’s ongoing commitment to fleet renewal, operational efficiency and sustainability. We remain confident that ATR’s latest-generation aircraft will enable us to further enhance connectivity across Greece, continuing to deliver high-quality service to our passengers, while reducing our environmental footprint.”
Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, Chief Executive Officer at ATR, added: “AEGEAN Airlines and Olympic Air’s role in delivering accessible and inclusive connectivity throughout Greece is commendable. The ATR 72-600 is ideally suited to their regional network, offering unmatched fuel efficiency and reliability. Its low operating costs and minimal environmental impact make it the perfect aircraft for maintaining profitable operations on low-density routes, especially in winter when air travel becomes a lifeline for island communities. This partnership reflects our shared vision for a truly essential and profitable regional aviation landscape.”

ORDER - AEGEAN discloses new order for the A321neo

Toulouse, France, 14 March 2025 – AEGEAN, the largest Greek airline, has disclosed an order with Airbus for an additional eight A321neo aircraft. The aircraft will enable AEGEAN to further grow its networks and support its expansion plan.

With this latest aircraft order, AEGEAN’s total direct orderbook with Airbus stands at 60 A320neo Family with 37 aircraft already delivered.

Dimitris Gerogiannis, AEGEAN’s Chief Executive Officer, commented, “The expansion of our investment plan with the additional order of eight Airbus A321neo aircraft is essential for achieving our growth objectives and further enhancing the competitiveness of our operations. It is also clear that we have a strong preference for the larger-capacity and extended-range version offered by the A321neo type, which will soon represent two-thirds of our Airbus fleet.”

Benoit de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business said, "We are delighted that AEGEAN has once again chosen the fuel-efficient A321neo. This decision underscores AEGEAN's commitment to operational excellence and enhancing the passenger experience. We value our collaboration with the largest Greek airline and look forward to continuing our partnership, supporting their growth plans within Europe and beyond.”

The A321neo is the largest member of Airbus’ best-selling A320neo Family, offering unparalleled range and performance. By incorporating new generation engines and Sharklets, the A321neo brings more than 20% fuel savings and CO₂ reduction compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft, while maximising passenger comfort in one of the widest single-aisle cabins in the sky.

As with all Airbus aircraft, the A321neo aircraft is already able to operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus is targeting to have its aircraft up to 100% SAF capable by 2030.

To date more than 6,800 A321neo have been ordered by more than 85 customers across the globe.
