First Airbus A350-1000 joins Air Caraïbes’ fleet

Air Caraïbes (a member airline of Groupe Dubreuil) has taken delivery of its first A350-1000, the largest member of Airbus’ new-generation A350 XWB Family, making it the first French operator of the type. The airline plans to operate its A350-1000s alongside its three A350-900s and six A330s on routes from Paris to the French Caribbean. The new aircraft will seamlessly integrate into Air Caraïbes existing fleet thanks to Airbus’ unique fleet commonality and provide the airline with additional flexibility. In total, Groupe Dubreuil has three A350-1000s on order.
Air Caraïbes’ A350-1000 are configured in a three-class layout with 429 seats (24 “Madras” Business, 45 in “Caraïbes” Premium Economy and 360 in “Soleil” Economy). All A350 XWBs are equipped with a quiet and comfortable Airspace cabin with a new lighting system, which strengthens the sense of passenger wellbeing and relaxation on long-haul flights.
The A350 XWB features the latest aerodynamic design, a carbon fibre fuselage and wings, plus new fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce engines. Together, these features translate into unrivalled levels of operational efficiency with a 25% reduction in fuel burn and emissions. The A350 XWB’s Airspace cabin is the quietest of any twin-aisle and offers passengers and crews the most modern in-flight products for the most comfortable flying experience.
At the end of November 2019, the A350 XWB Family had received 959 firm orders from 51 customers worldwide, making it one of the most successful widebody aircraft ever.

Air Caraïbes schedules A350-1000XWB mid-Dec 2019 service entry

Air Caraïbes in last week’s schedule update filed planned Airbus A350-1000XWB aircraft operation, under aircraft code “350”. With the configuration of J24W45Y360, the airline plans to operate the stretched variant from mid-December 2019.

AerCap Delivers First of Three New Airbus A350 XWB Aircraft to Air Caraïbes

First A350 Delivery to a French Carrier

DUBLIN – AerCap Holdings N.V. (“AerCap”) (NYSE: AER) today announced the delivery of a new Airbus A350-900 to Air Caraïbes, the first of three new A350 aircraft deliveries on long-term lease from AerCap’s order book with Airbus. The aircraft was transferred to the French carrier at a ceremony in the Airbus Delivery Centre in Toulouse, attended by Philip Scruggs, President and Chief Commercial Officer of AerCap, Jean-Paul Dubreuil, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Air Caraïbes, and Marc Rochet, Chairman of the Managing Board of Air Caraïbes, amongst other delegates. A second A350-900 aircraft is scheduled for delivery to Air Caraïbes in March 2017.

AerCap has one of the largest Airbus A350 XWB portfolios with a total of twenty-nine owned and on order, delivering through 2019.

AerCap President and Chief Commercial Officer Philip Scruggs said, “AerCap is proud to deliver the first A350 aircraft to Air Caraïbes. Air Caraïbes will be the first French airline to operate the A350. The aircraft will offer Air Caraïbes greater capacity, increased range and superior operational efficiency. Air Caraïbes’ Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Jean-Paul Dubreuil said, “We have been working with AerCap, and previously with ILFC, for over 14 years. They helped us launch our first transatlantic services in 2003 and 2004, by providing two Airbus A330 aircraft, on lease agreements. Our decision to invest in the A350 XWB was down to the competitive positions provided by AerCap.”

Air Caraïbes takes delivery of its first A350-900, opening up a new era in air transport to the French Caribbean

With this latest delivery, Air Caraïbes becomes the first French airline to operate the A350 XWB. The aircraft, leased from AerCap, was delivered during a ceremony held at the Airbus Delivery Centre in Toulouse on 28 February. It will take off at 14:00 heading for Paris Orly Sud before embarking on its first commercial flight to Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France on 2 March.

This A350-900 can accommodate 389 passengers in a three-class configuration, (18 in Business, 45 in Premium Economy and 326 in Economy). The exceptional comfort and quietness of the ‘Airspace by Airbus’ cabin, combined with its new lighting system – much appreciated by passengers for the way it reduces the effects of jet lag – strengthen the sense of wellbeing and relaxation on long-haul flights.

Air Caraïbes plans to operate its A350 XWB alongside the A330s it already has in service on its Paris French Caribbean routes.

The A350 XWB benefits from the latest technological and aerodynamic innovations offering an unprecedented level of operational efficiency while significantly cutting its environmental footprint. Its fuselage and wings are made of carbon fibre and it is powered by the new-generation Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines.



To date, orders for 821 A350 XWBs have been placed with Airbus by 44 customers around the world, making this one of the most successful programmes ever in the long-range aircraft segment.

French Blue plans August 2017 A350 service debut

Air Caraibes’ low-cost carrier French Blue has filed planned Airbus A350-900XWB operation, scheduled to enter service in the 3rd quarter of 2017. From 01AUG17, the A350 will serve Paris Orly – St. Denis de la Reunion route 4 times a week, replacing A330-300. The airline’s overall frequency is up to 8 weekly flights.


Configuration of the A350-900XWB is W35Y376, with Economy Class in 3-4-3 layout. The following schedule only highlights A350 operation on this route.

Air Caraibes' First A350 Rolls Out of Painting Hangar

The first Airbus A350 XWB for Air Caraibes has rolled out from painting hangar in Toulouse, France, Airbus disclosed on Tuesday.

The A350-900, Registration F-HHAV, was in full company livery but still without engines, which will be followed by engine installation, ground and flight testing before delivery scheduled in March-April 2017.

Dubreuil Group has ordered seven A350s for its two subsidiaries: Air Caraibes and French Blue, including three A350-1000s and four -900s (three of which are leased from AerCap).

The A350-1000 will arrive by 2020 and must join the fleet of Air Caraibes which planned to arrange them tri-class with 439 seats.
Air Caraibes will become the first French carrier to operate Airbus A350-900s, and the third European after Finnair and Lufthansa.

Air Caraïbes adds maiden ATR72-600

Air Caraïbes has taken delivery of its first of four ATR72-600s on order from Avions de Transport Régional.

Air Caraïbes Atlantique outlines initial A350 operations

Air Caraïbes Atlantique  is tentatively planning to commence revenue A350-900 operations during the first quarter of next year ch-aviation analysis of schedule data has revealed.

Configured with eighteen in Business Class, forty-five in Premium Economy, and 326 in Economy Class, the twinjet will initially be deployed on 4x weekly Paris Orly-Pointe à Pitre, Guadeloupe and a 3x weekly Paris Orly-Fort de France, Martinique services effective March 1.


The Air Caraïbes (TX, Pointe à Pitre) subsidiary has a total of three A350-1000s on order from Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac), the first of which is due in 2020 while the first of three A350-900s, on lease from AerCap, is due to arrive in December this year.
