BQB Líneas Aéreas to shut up shop on April 11

BQB Líneas Aéreas will cease operations on April 11 with 90 employees to be made redundant Uruguay's El Pais newspaper has reported quoting an internal company source. The carrier has struggled to remain afloat in a difficult market and as such, owner and founder Juan Carlos Lopez Mena has begun exploring his options apropos its future.

Uruguay's BQB Líneas Aéreas accepts first A319

BQB Líneas Aéreas has taken delivery of its first of three A319-100s due between now and May of this year. The aircraft, CX-SAN (cn 1703), was ferried from Bordeaux where it had been in storage for previous operator, TAM Linhas Aéreas.
The Uruguayan carrier operates one wet-leased A320-200 and four ATR72-500s to 13 destinations in 5 countries scattered throughout South America.

Uruguay's BQB Líneas Aéreas gets its first A320-200

BQB Líneas Aéreas has taken delivery of its first jet, an A320-200, EC-LLJ (cn 4661) on wet-lease from Vueling Airlines. According to the Uruguayan carrier, the aircraft will be used on daily return flights between Montevideo and Santiago de Chile Int'l effective December 26.

BQB plans to add first A320-200 for charter services

BQB Líneas Aéreas plans to lease a first A320-200 in February 2013 that will complement the airline's two ATR 72-500 and a third ATR 72-500 that will be added to its fleet. Unlike the ATR 72-500s, it plans to first use the A320-200 for charter services.
