Northern Air Cargo adds maiden B767 freighter:: B767-323(ER)(BDSF)

Northern Air Cargo has taken delivery of its first widebody freighter following the arrival of N379CX (msn 25199) in Miami Int'l on February 5.

NAC is expected to take delivery of a further two B767 freighters as part of a deal reached between Northern Aviation Services and Air Transport Services Group in July last year.

AerCap Delivers 767 to Atlas Air Worldwide

DUBLIN -- AerCap Holdings N.V. (“AerCap”) (NYSE:AER) has announced it has delivered a Boeing 767-300ER to a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (“Atlas Air Worldwide”), a leading global provider of outsourced aircraft and aviation operating services. The Boeing 767-300ER, powered by GE engines, was manufactured in 1997 and is the seventh of eight 767-300ERs AerCap is delivering to Atlas Air Worldwide.

AerCap President and Chief Commercial Officer Philip Scruggs said, “We are pleased to support Atlas Air Worldwide’s fleet requirements as the company expands its business base to new markets. The 767-300ER remains the most popular choice of aircraft type in its class, due to its reliability and range. We wish our partners at Atlas Air Worldwide continued success.”

the Boeing 767-300, emblazoned with "Prime Air" on its fuselage, is to be operated by Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. It is one of 40 that Amazon has agreed to lease as it broadens its system for shipping and delivering goods quickly to supplement partners such as United Parcel Service Inc. and FedEx Corp.

The plane is part of a deal announced In May to lease 20 Boeing planes from Atlas Air, following a similar deal in March to lease as many as 20 jets from Air Transport Services Group.


The effort stems from a broad desire at Amazon to take greater control of its shipping and package delivery operations. In some cases, the company is using its own trucks, drivers and a fleet of couriers for so-called last mile delivery, the final and most-expensive leg of an order's trip.

Notably, the Prime Air designation has been used until now for Amazon's nascent drone delivery program.

Aloha Air Cargo leasing an ABX Air freighter for LAX flights

Aloha Air Cargo began its first scheduled cargo flights to the US mainland on October 23.
According to the HNL Rarebirds blog, the carrier has a lease agreement with Airborne Global Solutions' subsidiary, Cargo Aircraft Management. A B767-300(F), N226CY (msn 26544), sourced from ABX Air operated the carrier's 5x weekly Honolulu to Los Angeles Int'l service for the first two days.

AeroLap Paraguay Airlines eyes June launch date

AeroLap Paraguay Airlines expects to secure its Air Operators Certificate from the Paraguayan civil aviation authority (Dirección Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil - DINAC) in early May ahead of a possible late June/early July launch.

Speaking to Paraguayan newspaper, ABC, AeroLap executive Juan Carlos Ruiz said the airline would shortly ferry its two B767-300(ER)s from the United States to Asuncion ahead of their inspection and eventual certification. The director-general of DINAC, Luis Aguirre, confirmed AeroLap had submitted its papers but refused to give a time frame as to when the certification would be completed.

Backed by local businessmen, AeroLap intends to launch three weekly direct flights between Asuncion and Madrid Barajas.
The B767-300(ER)s will be dry-leased from US lessor Jet Midwest and are ex-Qantas aircraft (msn 24339 and 24343).
