FLEET - Kalitta Charters II retires final B727

On 5 April 2024, Kalitta Charters II retired its final Boeing B727. The last flight was conducted by B727-264F N729CK (22982), which flew from Detroit-Willow Run (MI) to Oscoda (MI).

The airline has operated the B727 since 2003 and had a total of twelve in the fleet. Several of these were, however, only used for spares. With the departure of the B727, Kalitta Charters II's fleet is now made-up of five B737-300BDSFs, eight B737-400SFs, and four B737-800BDSFs. The latter aircraft are operated for DHL.

Next to the Boeings, Kalitta Charters II also operates a fleet of bizjets, featuring the Challenger 601, Learjet 35, Learjet 45, and Falcon 20. The company also operates Learjet 35s and Falcon 20s in a cargo-configuration.

FLEET - Asas Linhas Aereas (Brazil) is now looking to move forward with one B737-300F, serial 27713, on lease from Rostrum Leasing (Ireland). The swap comes due to maintenance issues with the original selection, a B727-200F, serial 22984.

UniWorld Air Cargo (Panama) plans to begin a transition from B727-200Fs to B737 Classic freighters later in 2023 as it expands its fleet.

Nigeria's Allied Air retires its last remaining B727-200(F)

Allied Air has retired its last remaining B727-200(F)5N-JNR (msn 21056) from revenue service according to Aerotransport.

Canada's Cargojet Airways to replace B727-200Fs with B757-200Fs

Cargojet Airways has taken delivery of its second B757-200(F), C-FKAJ (msn 24566) reports Canadian Aviation News. The ex Icelandair  jet arrived in Canada from Hamilton, ON registered as N720DB. As it stands, the Canadian freight outfit plans to acquire more B757 freighters in 2014 as part of plans to phase out its current workhorse fleet of ten B727-200(F).

PanAir Cargo resuming operations with B727-200Adv. freighter

PanAir Cargo ( Panamá City )has taken delivery of an ex-Capital Cargo International Airlines B727-200(F) HP-1754CTW (MSN 21857) that it plans to resume cargo operations after approximately two years of inactivity. It had previously operated another aircraft of the same type between 2009 and 2010.
